BEWARE THE ILLUSION OF PERFECTION is a 20 minute performance exploring aspects of sociocultural programming through the vehicles of dance, storytelling, and music. It premiered in Seattle at On the Boards as part of the 2013 Northwest New Works Festival. Built upon a year of research examining shame, the piece investigates personal wounds, cultural mythologies, personas, ritual, and our collective performance of man, woman, beauty, 'sexy' & sexuality, asking: what are the invisible systems at play and how can we transform them?

These recordings are the raw tracks that were edited into the live performance.
